ToneChat
An experimental interface that explores using typographic elements in textual communication with LLMs, echoing the rhythm and intonation in human speech.
In recent years, LLMs have become widely accessible, serving millions of users through both text-based and voice-based interfaces. Current modes of interaction with text-based LLMs present a uniform visual experience—the font, typography, spacing, and pace of content exposure remain fixed and unvaried- All interfaces use bold, italic, bullets and tables.
The ToneChat interface proposes the integration of typographic tone into LLM-based communication. By dynamically adapting type, spacing, and pacing to match the emotional and contextual content of the exchange, ToneChat aims to transform the reading experience into one that is more expressive, personalized, and engaging.
