Plantimus
Project by Ofer Asaf, Ronnie Cohen and Adam Elazara
Plantimus is an external human-sensory enhancement device that assists children to
‘hear’ plants. By embedding a digital layer on top of the physical world, we encourage children to step-out and reflect upon our inherent connection to nature.
Developing abstract thinking and self-exploration, the Plantimus is a two-piece device resembling a stethoscope, that generates different pre-recorded sounds when directed towards plants. Insights from initial user testing show that children react positively to the experience of ‘hearing’ plants, as well as being intriguing to adults.
