Word, AI, Emotion
A speculative project in the context of the national trauma of October 7th, which seeks to create a real-time emotional image using AI
Following October 7th, we are experiencing extreme levels of anxiety and sadness. We created an interactive installation inviting users to talk about their experiences on October 7th and responding with words and movement. I wanted to explore whether such reactive visuals can create a meaningful emotional experience and the possibility for reflection.
The installation establishes a safe and intimate environment where users can feel private. In this setting, they are invited to talk; through the use of AI, the speech is categorized into one of ten distinct emotions, and meaningful words are extracted. For each emotion we created an animation sequence. The screen then dynamically displays a visualization of the words and emotions that have been articulated and captured in sentences.
